/usr/bin/dpkg received a segmentation fault.
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg received a segmentation fault.
Try:
dpkg --clear-avail
apt-get update
Otherwise try a reboot - this happened to me after a virtual server ran out of ram. Reboot fixed it
